Top Reefing Products with a 5-Year warranty until 2030
The New Year always encourages us to look forward, and it struck me this week that right now, if you buy a reefing product with a five-year warranty you’re good until 2030, and that feels like a very long way away!
Three brands have also been promoting their five-year warranties lately on specific products. First is Tunze, guaranteeing their Turbelle Stream and Nanostream wave pumps for five years, as well as the latest generation Tunze Osmolator 3.
Next is Italian company Sicce, another multi-generational family business like Tunze, and they’re giving five-year warranties on many products from Syncra and Xstream SDC pumps to Shark protein skimmers, to selected heaters, and that’s brave when the skimmers and heaters are new.
Next is Red Sea, which offers extended warranties on Reefer G2 Plus aquariums. That’s definitely one to consider when selecting a tank. Who will warranty a tank after one, two, three or even five years? Most reef tanks don’t fully mature until their second year at least…and Red Sea warranties their Reef Run pumps for five years too.
So this is a manufacturer appreciation post, for those who are thinking beyond 2026 and offering a free insurance policy on their products for the next half-decade. Keep your receipts and register, because you never know when you’re going to need them!
